Two similar duas made by Ibrahim AS

Spot the difference 👆🏻👆🏻in the dua above.

The first one is a sentence and the second one a fragment.

Now translate just that part of both duas

Make this a secure city
Make this city secure

Now from this can you guess which du’a must have been made first?

The first du’a mentioned above is in Surah Baqarah Ibrahim AS says, make this a secure city. It’s just a vast expanse of land it’s not a city yet, indicating this du’a was made first.

The second du’a is in Surah Ibrahim. This dua is made years later when Ibrahim AS returns and finds Makkah to be a flourishing city. This is captured in the simple usage of ‘لَ ا .’Ibrahim AS says ‘Make this city a secure one’, pointing towards the fact that Makkah is no longer a desert but a hustling bustling prosperous city.
